Our Heritage...
H enry Woody and his oldest son Martin were Revolutionary War soldiers present at the British surrender at Yorktown. Henry’s youngest son Wyatt left his home in Bedford County, Virginia when he was a young man and a newlywed, around 1800. He relocated to what is now Yancey County, in western North Carolina. There, Wyatt began a craft that continues in the Woody family to this day.
